UPI QR Checker.

Fraudsters paste their own QR over a shop’s QR, or send a “scan to receive money” code. Check any UPI QR or UPI ID first — see exactly who will receive the money and what the QR is asking for.

Golden rule

You never need to scan a QR code or enter your UPI PIN to receive money. A PIN always means money is leaving your account.

Common UPI QR frauds in India

    • QR sticker swap: a fraudster sticks his QR over a shop’s or petrol pump’s QR. The name on your payment screen will not match the shop.
    • “Scan to receive money”: buyers on OLX / Facebook Marketplace send a QR “to pay you” — scanning and entering your PIN sends them money instead.
    • Fake refund / cashback QR: “customer care” sends a QR with an amount filled in to “process your refund”.
    • QR that opens a website: not a UPI payment at all, but a phishing page asking for card or bank details.

    Frequently asked questions

Can this tool show the bank-verified name of a UPI ID?

The bank-verified name is shown only inside your UPI app on the payment screen. This tool shows the name written inside the QR (which the creator can type freely) and which app or bank the UPI ID belongs to. Always match the name your UPI app shows before entering the PIN.

    What does @ybl, @okaxis or @paytm mean?

The part after @ is the UPI handle of the app or bank where the ID was created — for example @ybl / @ibl / @axl are PhonePe, @okaxis / @okhdfcbank / @okicici / @oksbi are Google Pay and @paytm / @ptsbi are Paytm.

Is a QR with a pre-filled amount dangerous?

Not always — shops and bills use them. It is a red flag when someone you do not know sends it, especially with words like refund, cashback, prize or “receive”.

I paid a fraud QR. What now?

Call 1930 (national cyber-crime helpline) immediately, report at cybercrime.gov.in and raise a dispute in your UPI app with the transaction ID.
