Network Path Tracer.

See the exact route your traffic takes to any website or server — every hop, its network (ASN), packet loss and delay — from real probes in India and around the world.

Protocol Packets

Pick up to 5 locations. Tip: use TCP port 443 when ICMP is blocked by a firewall.

Sending probes…

Measurements run on the free Globalping probe network (jsDelivr). Delay values are milliseconds.

How to read a traceroute

  • Hop: each router your packets pass through, starting next to the probe and ending at the destination.
  • ASN / network: the operator that owns the router (e.g. Airtel, Jio, Tata, Cloudflare). Big jumps in delay often happen where traffic changes networks or crosses a sea cable.
  • Loss %: loss only on a middle hop is usually harmless (routers deprioritise replies). Loss that continues to the last hop is a real problem.
  • Delay: under 50 ms inside India is good; India ↔ Singapore ~30–60 ms; India ↔ Europe ~110–160 ms; India ↔ USA ~200–260 ms.

Frequently asked questions

Is this traceroute tool free?

Yes. It runs on the free Globalping network. Each visitor can run roughly 250 probe tests per hour from their own internet connection; one location counts as one test.

What is the difference between traceroute and MTR?

Classic traceroute sends a few packets per hop once. MTR repeats the test and shows packet loss, best, average and worst delay and the network (ASN) for every hop, which makes problems much easier to spot.

Why do some hops show * or no response?

Many routers are configured not to answer traceroute packets. If later hops respond normally, a silent hop is not a problem. Try TCP on port 443 if many hops are silent.

Why is my website slow from abroad but fast in India?

Distance adds delay. Hosting in India with a CDN in front (Cloudflare, CloudFront) serves visitors from the nearest location. Infrared Techno can set this up for you.
